Singer P!nk at the E! People’s Choice Awards | Youtube screen grab

Welcome to another edition of Feminist Friday! That time of the week where we depart from our regular programming to bring you three of our fave videos of the moment, centered around an intersectional feminist theme or themes.

This week we’re all about the feels, given that we just saw some epic, badass and inspirational speeches from amazing female role models at the E! People’s Choice Awards as well as Glamour’s Women Of The Year Summit. First up is singer P!nk‘s powerful speech from the PCAs, which left us with goosebumps and the feeling that we can do anything. She thanked real-life champions and challenged everyone to make a change in the world. Watch below:

The next few videos are all from the Glamour Women Of The Year 2019 Summit, and because there were quite a few incredible speeches to choose from, we decided to break with our regular Feminist Friday tradition to post more than just 3 videos in this column! The first speech is from USWNT World Cup Champion and all-round badass Megan Rapinoe, who talked about activism and gave a nod to Colin Kaepernick for paving the way for athletes to take a stand against injustice, especially when it wasn’t popular and he was vilified for it.

The second WOTY video was actress Charlize Theron’s acceptance speech where she talked about the importance of storytelling as a tool for creating empathy, and how the women in the room are creating change by raising their voices and using their craft:

And the final video from the Glamour WOTY Summit comes from another actress Yara Shahidi, who said to be a women is a be an abolitionist, given the amount of injustices they face and what they still have to fight for today, especially if they are immigrants, LGBTQ or women of color. This young woman is surely an inspirational role model.
