Lady Gaga & Other Women Dominate Forbes’ “Top Earning Celeb Under 30” List

Whatever you may think about Lady Gaga, aka 27 year-old Stefani Germanotta, the fact remains that she is talented, successful, passionate and stands by her convictions. You don’t have to herald her, heck you don’t even have to like her! But you can’t deny that as a young woman in entertainment she had broken down many barriers for other aspiring female musicians who are struggling to find out where they “fit” in the industry.

This year Forbes has named her as the Top Earning Celebrity under 30, for the second time. It’s an amazing achievement, especially because she didn’t release a new album this year, and had to cancel the remainder of her ‘Born This Way Tour’ because of a dance-related injury. Her personal earnings, all from her music and touring (not endorsements etc) are estimated to be $80 Million. Her BTW tour grossed $168 million through January; had Gaga been able to finish it, she would have likely topped $200 million.

These figures, as well as her huge social media following also put mother monster in second place on the annual Forbes Celebrity 100 list, behind Oprah Winfrey (of course). It’s thrilling to see more and more women dominate these types of lists in media, as it shows there is so much we have to offer and what fans want to see.

The rest of the Top Ten Celeb list include Taylor Swift, Adele, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart. So seven out of ten women are the top earning celebs for 2013!

Keep up the great work ladies. We need to have more and more hard working, talented women dedicated to their craft who aren’t afraid to push the boundaries and create new paths of opportunity for the next generation.

Lady Gaga’s news album ARTPOP will be released November, 2013.
