Meet The Youngest “Best Actress” Oscar Nominee Ever- Quvenzhané Wallis

Quvenzhané Wallis may be a name unfamiliar to you, but in the film industry she is causing a huge stir. At nine years old she is the youngest person to ever be nominated for an Academy Award.

She is nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in Beasts of the Southern Wild. She auditioned for her starring role at the tender age of five (!) and it looks like this is just the start of her career. Quvenzhané has been cast in the upcoming movie Twelve Years a Slave, which also stars Paul Giamatti, Brad Pitt, and Michael Fassbender. She also won a Critics Choice award for her role in Beasts. Go girl! Just don’t end up like Lindsay Lohan for the love of God…

Vogue US’s editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley to talk about her nomination and her love of fashion. The talented young chick loves to dress up for the red carpet and aside from all her fame, she is just like a normal girl who is obsessed with Disney, Rihanna, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and more.

How exciting to see a nine year old break records at the Academy Awards! We hope she has an amazing career, as it is clear her talent is something to keep an eye on. We also hope she has a great support group in her life so that she has every opportunity to grow up healthy and well-rounded, and not fall prey to the Hollywood pitfalls that engulf other child stars. A good example would be Emma Watson. May she be a role model to Quvenzhané in how to balance childhood, school, social life and growing up.

Do you think Quvenzhané will win Best Actress at the Oscars this year? What do you think about her career starting at such a young age?
