It’s that time of the year, when Forbes Magazine puts out its annual top 100 biggest Celebrity Earners of the year list. In 2013, it’s the women in media and entertainment that dominated the top ten, showing a shift in gender power in the biz!

Oprah Winfrey regained the number one spot on the list, after a much better year at OWN, her earnings estimating $77 Million!

Here is the top ten list of top earning celebrities in 2013:

1. Oprah Winfrey, $77 million

2. Lady Gaga, $80 million

3. Steven Spielberg, $100 million

4. Beyonce Knowles $53 million

5. Madonna, $125 million

6. Taylor Swift, $55 million

7. Bon Jovi, $79 million

8. Roger Federer, $71 million

9. Justin Bieber, $58 million

10. Ellen Degeneres, $56 million

It is Oprah’s 6th time topping the list, which is no small achievement for a woman who literally built up her media empire from the ground up with a lot of longevity, hard work and dedication.

And if you are wondering why some of the people on this list beneath Oprah earn more and aren’t at the top, it’s because this Forbes list isn’t just calculated on fiscal earnings.

“Our annual Celebrity 100 takes a stab at measuring that most ephemeral of riches: fame. Yes, we factor in celebrity earnings over the last 12 months, but we also tally how often each celebrity is mentioned in print and on TV, and gauge the strength of their Internet presence and how they’re viewed by American consumers.” Says the magazine.

Madonna is back on the Celeb 100–in fifth place–after two years off the list. Even though her newest album, MDNA, was a flop, the Material Girl still managed to rank as this year’s top earner thanks to a world tour that helped her rake in $125 million between June 2012 and June 2013.

“Lady Gaga managed to earn $80 million and get the second-most press mentions of anyone on our list (behind Rihanna). Gaga is also a master of social networking. Her Little Monsters hang on her every tweet, making her the third most successful social networker on our list.Together with Beyonce (fourth,) Taylor Swift (sixth) and Ellen Degeneres (10th) women occupy six of the top 10 slots on this year’s list.” says Forbes in reference to the domination of women in the top ten.

We love seeing women dominating and representing for our persuasion in this list! Who knows, perhaps next year all ten will be women. Either way, let this be a reminder to all you hard working, hustling women out there to never give up. No matter what your obstacles or difficulties are, you can achieve anything if you persist!

Who run the world? We do!
