Rhea Seehorn’s incredible performance as Kim Wexler in ‘Better Call Saul’ didn’t go unnoticed. Indeed, critics thought that she was one of the best actors in the series, despite having been surrounded by some of the greatest in the business.

Vince Gilligan clearly thought the same, as he cast her as the protagonist in his latest series, Pluribus. The new show has the potential to transform Seehorn into one of the biggest stars on television, and she could replicate the rise of Bryan Cranston after his ‘Breaking Bad’ turn.

Pluribus Has Received Rave Reviews

There was a lot of hype around Gilligan’s new series, as the screenwriter is easily one of the most talented in the business. Breaking Bad is often considered one of the best series of all time, and some critics think its spinoff, Better Call Saul, is even better. The 58-year-old has moved away from that universe now with Pluribus, but the new series still has his distinctive style.

The Apple TV+ offering was released in late 2025 and was immediately met with strong reviews. The series has been described as highly original in its tone and style, and many critics praised Seehorn’s performance as well. Pluribus is the first time Seehorn has played a protagonist in a series, after mainly acting in supporting roles. She has proven that she has what it takes to be a strong lead and could now carve her own success story as the headline act in one of Gilligan’s shows.

Seehorn the Greatest Female Character of the Breaking Bad Universe

The ‘Breaking Bad’ universe was packed full of amazing female characters in memorable roles, with Anna Gunn’s turn as Skyler White often drawing praise from critics. She won the Outstanding Supporting Actress award twice for the role in 2013 and 2014. Betsy Brandt also shone as Marie Schrader and was nominated for various awards as well.

Without these powerful women, ‘Breaking Bad’ may not have become the overwhelming success that it turned out to be. Despite finishing in 2013, the show’s legacy lives on, and more people are still discovering it to this day. The development of spinoffs such as ‘Better Call Saul’ and ‘El Camino’ helped with that, as did the extension of the franchise into related casino games such as the official ‘Breaking Bad’ slot.

Seehorn’s character was as strong as Brandt’s and Gunn’s when she played Kim Wexler in ‘Better Call Saul’; she is often listed as one of the highlights of the series. She won countless awards and proved to Gilligan that she could take on a main protagonist role. At 53 years of age, she can use ‘Pluribus’ as a springboard for other major Hollywood parts.

Various other actors first made names for themselves on television and went on to become stars on the big screen. Zendaya is one of the best-known recent examples, and her career exploded after starring in ‘Euphoria’. There’s no doubt that Seehorn will see people like the Dune star as her inspiration as well.

The Series Could Run for Four Seasons

Seehorn has already shown her incredible range in ‘Better Call Saul’ and now in the first season of ‘Pluribus’. She has a chance to impress even more, as her character is likely to develop greatly over the course of the new series.

Gilligan has said that he thinks Pluribus could run for four seasons, meaning that there’s going to be plenty of time for character development. This type of extended storytelling gives actors more of a chance to become a character, with some of the greatest roles in recent years coming in television series.

These include Buffy Summers from ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and Sookie Stackhouse from ‘True Blood’. Seehorn’s Carol Sturka in ‘Pluribus’ could one day be mentioned alongside these legendary figures of television.

After her amazing turn in ‘Better Call Saul’, Seehorn deserved her own starring part in a series. She’s hit the jackpot with Pluribus, which is set to be another gem from Gilligan. There’s a strong chance that she will become a huge name in Hollywood when she’s finished working on the Apple TV+ offering.
