It can be hard being single, especially when February rolls around. It’s even harder when TV shows and movies portray perfect relationships to be the standard. Yet, it turns out, there are various benefits to being single. Or as our fave artist Lizzo sings so appropriately – we’re feelin’ “good as hell” about the idea of being empowered as people regardless of whether we are in a relationship or not.
The turns out you can save a lot more money by being single. Not only that, but incorporating more self-love practices into your daily routine can make it extra beneficial. Whether that is sitting down to meditate or focus on your next business move a little extra every day, you can do so without feeling a slight feeling of guilt.
While you have more time to focus on your health and goals, you can also whip your finances back into shape. For instance, the United States Department of Agriculture estimates, on average, American’s monthly grocery budget racks up to about $256 (women) to $302 (men).
If you’re single, you won’t have to make up the difference in groceries, eating out all the time, or pay for unnecessary vacations. Instead, you can save a couple of extra pennies and make investments to increase your earning potential.
If there’s anyone who understands the value of being single financially it’s Ariana Grande, who sings, “Buy myself all of my favorite things…Write my own checks like I write what I sing…” in her track ‘7 Rings’. We gotta agree with the pop star on this one.
